MEDEA Award for Creativity and Innovation 2009
The MEDEA Award for Creativity and Innovation 2009, set up to coincide with the European Year of Creativity and Innovation 2009 (EYCI), aimed to specifically award creative and innovative use of media in education.
“Anyone who considered their use of media in education and training to be creative and/or innovative could participate. This included innovative applications of media in the classroom where pupils and teachers are working together to use media in different ways to enhance learning or trainers and facilitators in lifelong learning centres who are using media creatively to help learners explore new opportunities. It also included groups of students who are working together on projects using media to explore and understand the world in a more creative way.”
In December 2009 the MEDEA Award for Creativity and Innovation 2009 was awarded to the entry Daisy and Drago. The two teachers representing the winning school received a MEDEA medal and prizes including a Pinnacle Studio Ultimate Licence, music software, a MicroTrack II mobile digital recorder (sponsored by AVID) and a Adobe Production Premium Creative Suite 4 Licence (sponsored by Adobe Systems).
